How to Make Kadhi Pakora Recipe in Pakistani Style

The weather is moderately cool, atmosphere is appealing and raining heavily then only one voice is heard from every home and that is kadhi and pakora. Every kid, every man or women will be wanting hot pakoras along with kadhi. It is the most appealing dish during monsoon. I was looking at the rain pouring and thought of making the kadhi pakora recipe in the desi way so, now I am going to share how to make the kadhi pakora recipe in full desi style.

Easiest way to Make the Tasty Kadhi Pakora Recipe

Origin

Starting off it is a desi cuisine that is most popular in India and whole Punjab. Basically kadhi originated from Rajasthan in India and made its way to Gujrat, then Sindh and then became popular in whole Punjab. There is variation in how to make kadhi based on the areas, like some use veggies in their kadhi and some use buttermilk but the area I am from uses pakoras with the kadhi and trust me it is the yummiest combination ever thus holds a special place in my heart.  

How to Make Kadhi Pakora Recipe

Remember that for making kadhi pakora, we will divide our recipe in two parts. The first part is related to kadhi and second is related with frying pakoras.

Now this beneficial and delightful cuisine can be cooked by using following ingredients and instructions.

For Kadhi

Ingredients:
  • 125 gm oil
  • 4 tbs besan (Gram flour)
  • 250 gm yogurt
  • 3 glass of water
  • 1 small sized onion
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 tomato
  • 5 pcs of garlic
  • 1 tbs cumin (zera)
  • Half tbs mix masala
  • 1 tbs salt
  • Half tbs turmeric (haldi)
  • 1 tbs red chilli
  • Fresh coriander leaves
Cooking Process:
  1. Firstly, take the mentioned amount of yogurt in a bowl and mix 3 glass of water in it to make lassi.
  2. Now add the given amount of besan in the lassi and mix it up well.
  3. Once all the lumps are removed that means, the material is well dissolved.
  4. Now take the mentioned amount of oil in the pot. Let it heat up.
  5. Once the oil is hot enough put in the chopped onion and let it brown.
  6. Now make the paste of garlic (lehsan) and use its ¾ in kadhi and keep the remaining for pakoras.
  7. After adding the garlic paste in pot, let it brown.
  8. When the garlic spreads its special aroma then add in the sliced tomato.
  9. Mix up all the matter.
  10. Add in all the mentioned maslas and mix it all up well, so that all the spices are dissolved and thick gravy masala is obtained.
  11. Take half glass water and add in side by side while mixing the maslas.
  12. Add in the pieces of green chilli.
  13. Now add in the liquid besan matter that we prepared at the start, in the pot and mix it gently.
  14.  When it is fully dissolved then lower the flame and place the lid over the pot until cooked.

For Pakoras

Ingredients:
  • 3 medium sized potatoes
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 5 tbs besan
  • 1 tbs salt
  • Half tbs mix masala
  • 1 tbs red chilli
  • Half tbs cumin (zera)
  • Half tbs turmeric (haldi)
  • 1 glass water
Cooking process:
  1. Take a bowl, place the chopped onion in it.
  2. Now place the potatoes in bowl which are cut in a parallel fashion similar to the shape of fries.
  3. Add in the given amount of besan.
  4. Add in the remaining paste of garlic.
  5. Add in all the mentioned masalas.
  6. Add in the water and make a thick paste which is fried to make pakoras.
  7. Take a deep pot and heat up the oil.
  8. Deep fry the paste and the crunchy pakoras are ready.
  9. The kadhi is prepared by now and it will look deep yellow in color and will have great thickness.
  10. Add in all the pakoras we made and add in the fresh coriander leaves at the top of it and that is it, the kadhi pakora is ready.

Serving Suggestions

You can serve the dish with a chapatti but you can also serve it with boiled rice along with desi green chatni and some fresh coriander topping will maximize its taste up to the greatest extent. The kadhi pakora recipe will blow the mind and explode the taste buds of your homies.

Is Kadhi Pakora Recipe Un-healthy?

As kadhi is made from besan (Gram Flour) so, ultimately it is most beneficial for an individual. Firstly, it is beneficial in fighting with anemia, it is an iron rich dish and helps to stay away from fatigue. It is also good for skin and hair as it helps in removing acne and dark spots from skin and enhance the volume and length of hair. The besan is also a best source of vitamin and as it is a combo with pakoras so indirectly you are benefited by the potatoes also. Potatoes are great source of iron, vitamins and antioxidants.

Storage Instructions

The best part of the recipe is that you can store the leftover for 2-3 days. Just store the remaining kadhi pakora recipe in airtight container and place it in a freezer. It is recommended to store just kadhi not the pakoras. When you want to eat the stored kadhi pakora recipe, just take the portion you want to eat and heat up on the low flame, you will feel the same freshness and taste when recipe was made.
